Communism

In my opinion communism is a good idea carried out very poorly. For the idea to truly work a government body must be truly pure. There can be no corruption in the government or else a dictatorship emerges and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  Countless examples of this have emerged such as the Soviet Union leader Stalin who killed an estimated 51 million over the 40 years of his reign. Cuba has and still does have large poverty rates due to the rule of Fidel Castro. Not since Cuba has embraced a more democratic system have they started recovering. Even China, the world’s second largest economy, has a large amount of corruption. Incidents like Tiananmen Square prove the governments’ wants absolute control over their people and what they want them to do or think. Communism is supposed to give power and equality to the people while all it ends up doing is government all the power to the government and taking away the rights of the people.

North Korea

North Korean soldiers fired 200 rounds of artillery shells at a military base on the South Koraean island of Yeonpyeong. Two South Korean soldiers died from the artillery shells while 15 were injured. After the shooting it is estimated that around 1,600 residents of the island are either getting off the island or moving to local bomb shelters which gives you an idea of the kind of conflict that might be breaking out. The people of South Korea feel something much bigger will erupt from this incident and it will be involving Yeonpyeong. The Yeonpyeong island has always been disputed between North and South Korea and I feel that the North Korean government is tired of arguing over it. This incident is what I believe is North Korea's declaration of anger and frustration towards South Korea and that they will no longer take no for an answer. A fight will definitely erupt but whether it’s military or political is up to what happens in the coming days.

AIC Simulation

The AIC simulation is a where teams of three are acting as certain figures of power from there country like Barrack Obama from the U.S. In the simulation I am part of the Israeli Likud Coalition which is led by Benjamin Netanyahu who is the current Prime Minister of Israel. I play the part of Ehud Barak who is the defense minister of Israel. I hope to get a solid understand of the Arab-Israeli conflict and be able to continue to follow with an understanding of what is happening and what might happen next.

To Fix The World

There are many issues that the world has and fixing them all is an impossible task. No world would ever be completely devoid of problems. We have and will always have issues that need to be addressed but we can make a change to make this world a better place to live in. In order to get down and really make a change we must first address global warming and its immediate danger. For once we address the most dangerous and most prevalent issue we’ve then laid down the foundation for the building blocks of change. Once we have fixed global warming we can then start the real fixing. In my opinion in order to fix this seriously flawed earth we must educate the world. We have to give people the knowledge and the tools to make sure problems such as global warming never reoccur. But we most importantly we must educate the children for they are the key to a better future. Show them the way to be true leaders and show them our mistakes so they never make them.

With this issue fixed other less important issues would fix themselves. Poverty rates would drop substantially because people would be able to get and provide jobs due to their education. Corruption would be less prevalent due to the fact that people were brought up and taught to be leaders. Thus through education future generations would be able to fix many of the issues that occupy the world today because they have been made known to them and they have been given the tools to find a solution. This is how I would fix the world.

My #1 Issue

Global warming is the one issue that causes everyone to put aside their differences towards one another in order to save their planet which is why i consider global warming the most important issue. No other issue is going to dramatically change how everyone in the world lives their lives. No other issue, if left untouched, would destroy the planet. There are other important issues to be dealt with in the world but first you need to have a world in order to deal with them. If the stock market crashes or a war breaks out somewhere in the world human life continues. But if the world floods or the ozone layer breaks then we're not going to have the same luck. In order to stop this issue everyone in the world is going to have to change how they live their lives on way or another. These are the reasons why global warming is the number one issue.
